Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic Colorado Springs Concert reviews
I will follow Kings of Leon
A pumped-up band that was on its feet from the first note to the last rewarded that devotion with a thoroughly amazing experience, defining what a Rock and Roll concert should be all about. The Followill clan stuck mostly to songs from their breakthrough 2008 album "Only by the Night," which allowed newer fans to join in without feeling out of place with the die-hards who have been following the band since its 2003 debut "Youth and Young Manhood." As a recent convert (having seen them on the Colbert Report) who has been listening to all four studio albums non-stop for the past couple of months, I would have enjoyed more songs from the earlier albums. My prediction is that Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic will become the next great touring band, similar to the Greatful Dead, Phish, or Dave Mathews Band. They certainly have enough great material to put on an entirely different set at each event. A non-stop blistering sonic assault just this side of heaven was experienced by a pumped-up audience. What should the "Followers of the Followills" be called? Kingheads? Count me among those masses who worship at the feet of the new rock royalty! That is a quibbling concern that may well be remedied in future performances.
